ORIGIN is an experienced, specialist care agency providing, one-to-one, 24 hour, live-in care services for people with spinal cord injuries.

A spinal injury is a complex injury that requires specialist care.  This is why, in order to maintain the highest standards, we focus on providing live-in care services exclusively for spinally injured clients.  Our clients are men and women who are mostly  aged between 18 and 55 approx and all our clients are wheelchair users, often as a result of a serious accident on the road, at work or playing a sport.

Our services concentrate on understanding and meeting the individual, practical and social needs of people with spinal injuries who wish to live independent lives in their own homes, for which our Personal Assistants, also known as PAs, are specially trained.

Peter Henry, who owns and runs Origin, has spent over fifteen years in the field of carer recruitment.  As he himself is spinally injured, he has a unique insight into the need for good Personal Assistant support in order to lead a full and active life.

Linda Adamsen, Origin’s Care Director, originally from Denmark, initially worked as a spinal injury Personal Assistant.  Her involvement , combined with Peter’s experience continues to  shape the way the company operates and the services which it provides, creating a unique understanding and level of support  both to clients and Personal Assistants.

At Origin we are aware that interaction between client and Personal Assistant and the development of a good relationship is very important, particularly when placing Personal Assistants in client’s homes. Trust, friendship, respect, understanding, compatibility and fun sit alongside professionalism, efficiency and practical skills. We devote a great deal of effort to ensuring clients and Personal Assistants are kept fully informed at all times, with assignments arranged to give as much compatibility and continuity as possible.
